Terms of Service
Last Updated: April 29, 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using Social Archiver, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app, plugin, browser extension, web app, or related cloud services.
Current Service Status
Current Access
The Obsidian community plugin remains free and open-source. Social Archiver also offers mobile apps and optional Premium plans for increased server-side archive access.
Free accounts include a monthly successful archive quota. Premium monthly, annual, and lifetime plans remove monthly archive limits while the entitlement is active.
Beta-Free Sunset
Some early accounts may still have the internal beta-free plan until the beta-free sunset.
- Beta-free access ends on May 7, 2026 at 09:00 KST.
- Server enforcement uses the equivalent UTC timestamp: May 7, 2026 at 00:00 UTC.
- After this point, beta-free accounts are treated as Free accounts unless the account has a Premium, Lifetime, or Admin entitlement.
Obsidian Plugin Policy Compliance
Social Archiver complies with Obsidian's Developer Policies:
- The Obsidian plugin itself is free and open-source under the MIT License.
- Purchases are for optional cloud services and server-side archive capacity, not for access to the community plugin itself.
- App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by the applicable store.
- Web checkout, when available, is handled by the checkout provider shown at purchase time.
- The plugin does not process payments inside Obsidian.
- Network use is disclosed: Social Archiver uses Cloudflare Workers, storage services, and content fetching infrastructure to provide archive, sync, and sharing features.
Description of Service
Social Archiver helps users save public posts, their own posts, and other content they are legally permitted to keep. Supported clients may include:
- Obsidian community plugin
- Mobile apps
- Browser extension
- Web app and public sharing pages
Archived content is local-first where possible. Optional sync, web sharing, account, billing, and archive metadata may be processed by Social Archiver servers so those features can work.
User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Only archive content you have the legal right to save.
- Respect copyright laws, intellectual property rights, and platform terms.
- Not use Social Archiver for illegal activity, unauthorized scraping, credential theft, surveillance, or access to another person's private accounts, devices, or restricted data.
- Not bypass paywalls, authentication, privacy settings, or technical restrictions.
- Not use archived content for resale or unauthorized distribution.
You are solely responsible for the content you archive and share.
Web Sharing
When you enable web sharing:
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share that content.
- Publicly shared content may be visible to anyone with the link unless access controls are configured.
- Social Archiver may remove shared content that appears to violate law, third-party rights, platform terms, or abuse policies.
Service Plans
Free Plan
- Free account access.
- Monthly successful archive quota.
- Local-first archiving features remain available.
- Monthly quota periods are calculated by the server using UTC.
Premium Monthly and Annual
- No monthly successful archive limit while the subscription entitlement is active.
- Subscription renews unless canceled through the applicable store or checkout provider.
- Access may change if a renewal, cancellation, refund, chargeback, or provider webhook changes entitlement status.
Lifetime
- No monthly successful archive limit without subscription renewal.
- Access may change if the purchase is refunded, reversed, or otherwise invalidated by the provider.
Admin
- Internal administrative entitlement for testing, support, and operations.
Billing Source of Truth
Server-side entitlement status is the source of truth for archive quota enforcement. Mobile entitlement state may help the app display status, but the server decides whether an archive request is allowed.
If a payment provider reports a purchase, renewal, expiration, cancellation, refund, chargeback, or reversal, Social Archiver may update your plan, archive quota, and server media retention accordingly.
Service Availability
Social Archiver relies on third-party services and platform behavior that can change:
- Content fetching infrastructure
- Cloudflare Workers and storage
- App Store, Google Play, and checkout providers
- Social platform APIs and public web pages
We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by third-party providers, platform changes, network issues, or abuse prevention systems.
Data and Privacy
Your use of Social Archiver is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Key points:
- Archived content is stored locally when using the Obsidian plugin and local app storage.
- Optional sync and web sharing may send content and metadata to Social Archiver servers.
- You can delete shared content and account data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual Property
The Obsidian plugin is open-source software under the MIT License. "Social Archiver" and associated branding are owned by Social Archiver.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Social Archiver is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy or reliability of archived content.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Social Archiver is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of content, or third-party claims arising from your use of the service.
